1452 (15 April) Birth of Leonardo in the little village Vinci

1473 Leonardo were allowed to the painter corporation

1475 Birth of Michelangelo

1476 Verrocchio worked with da Vinci to paint The Baptism of Christ

1478 Leonardo’s first solo painting the Madonna and the Child

1481 Leonardo worked on The Addoration of the Magi

1482-1499 Leonardo was in service of Duke Ludovico Sforza

He did many paintings, sculptures, and drawings during these many years. He also designed court festivals (incl. cooking), and drew many of his engeneering sketches. He left many projects unfinished, 6 paintings were completed.

Sforza was a ruling family of Renaissance Italy, based in Milan. Ludovico Sforza (also known as Ludovico il Moro) was famous for taking Leonardo da Vinci at his service. It is said that he was called il Moro because of his dark skinned complexion. Some scholars believe that the name Moro came from Ludovico's coat of arms, which contained the mulberry tree, but that is doubtful, as the Italian name for that tree is the feminine mora rather than the masculine moro.

1510-1511 Collaborated with the doctor Marcantonio della Torre.
In 30 years, Leonardo dissected many male and female corpses of different ages. Together with the doctor he prepared a book on human anatomy consisting of more than 200 drawings (published in 1580, Treatise on painting)

1512 Michelangelo finished ceiling of Sistine Chapel

1514 St. John the Baptist painting were finished

1516 Leonardo left Italy to Amboise

1519 (23 April) Leonardo made his last will

1519 (2 May) Leonardo dead in Amboise
